Countersign sends a small number of text messages, and only to people who ask for them or who were invited by someone they know.
Who we are
Countersign is operated by Placeholder, LLC, a Delaware company. Website: gocountersign.com.
What we send
- Sign-in codes, when you ask for one. Example: “Your Countersign code is 123456. It expires in 10 minutes. Never share it. Reply STOP to opt out.”
- Family confirmation requests and results, when a family member asks you to confirm it’s really you, or you ask them. Example: “COUNTERSIGN: Tunde is asking if you’re contacting them right now about help or money. If it’s you, reply YES 1234. If it’s not you, reply NO. Reply STOP to opt out.”
- One invitation when a family member adds you. Example: “Hi Mum, Tunde has added you to their family on Countersign, so you can check it’s really them if anyone calls asking for money. Reply YES to join. Reply STOP to opt out.”
- Account messages such as a reminder to learn your family’s phrase, or a payment problem notice.
We never send marketing or promotional texts.
How you agree
- You sign in yourself: you enter your own number on gocountersign.com and tap “Send my code”. The page tells you that doing so means you agree to receive these texts.
- A family member invites you: they enter your number, and you receive one invitation. You join only by replying YES or opening the link. If you do nothing, you receive nothing more.
How often
It depends on what you do. A typical person receives a few messages a month. Message and data rates may apply.
How to stop or get help
- Reply STOP at any time to stop all texts. We confirm, and we don’t text again. Reply START to restart.
- Reply HELP for help, or email support@gocountersign.com.
